Whether you own a small Volkswagen Beetle, a midsized BMW or a fully loaded Winnebago motor home, there’s no time like summer to hit the road and see this great country of ours. And if you really like driving, there’s no place like the wide-open west to find miles and miles of uncrowded roads with stunning views all around.
Eventually you’re going to want to end up somewhere at the end of your journey. So here’s a list of top summer destinations to make your roadtrip a memorable one.
The Great Outdoors
- Yellowstone National Park. Nestled in the upper west corner of Wyoming, this jewel of American national parks offers everything from abundant wildlife viewing to rampaging waterfalls and roiling geysers that shoot steam and pressure-heated water hundreds of feet into the air.
- Yosemite National Park. From its ancient giant sequoias to the iconic granite cliffs of Half-Dome and El Capitan, California’s Yosemite Park offers natural wonders to delight visitors of all ages. With a vertical drop of more than 600 feet, Bridalveil Falls is a must-see attraction.
- Zion National Park. If you enjoy hiking with jaw-dropping views, Zion is the place to be.
